Fernwood Lodge log cabin after a fresh snowfall with snow on the deck and trees

Winter at Fernwood

Snow settles on the deck rails and the woods go silent. Inside, the wood stove is going and the great room windows frame the whole white forest.

01

Warm and ready for weather

The cabin has central heat, a wood burning stove, and an automatic backup generator. A paved driveway leads to the lodge.

02

Eagles on the Delaware

Bald eagles winter along the Upper Delaware and the Mongaup reservoirs, close to the lodge. December through March is the best time to look, early in the morning.

03

Getting here in snow

Country roads near the cabin can be slick after a storm. A four wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle is recommended, and it is worth checking the forecast before you leave. If needed, guests may also park in a flat area near the barn and walk to the cabin.
